Here at Lavender on the Lake our wedding venue in Saint Cloud, Florida, we see ALL kinds of fabulous weddings. Out of our 125 weddings, no two have been even somewhat similar. We love to see how each couple brings their own unique ideas and vibe to the space in the moment and we look SO forward to receiving the photos from the photographers.
After all, the photographs are the pieces that last. Let’s take a look at some trending wedding photos couples love right now at Lavender on the Lake.

Wedding galleries feel more like a love story and less like a checklist of Pinterest poses. Let’s take a look at some of my faves!
The Classic Dip Kiss
The dip kiss has been around forever and is popular because it photographs beautifully — especially in sparkler exits or sunset portraits. But lately, couples and photographers alike are noticing that the pose can sometimes feel staged or uncomfortable so it isn’t the only trend happening here.
Today’s couples are prioritizing:
- Blurry images
- Natural movement instead of static portraits
If you love the idea of romantic portraits but want something a little more modern than the dip kiss, here are some of the biggest alternatives trending right now.
The Walking Shot or Motion/Blur Movement
Instead of stopping for a formal pose, couples simply walk hand-in-hand while talking, laughing, or stealing glances at each other. These images feel candid, cinematic, and full of energy. They are comfortable interactions that reflect their personalities
One of the fastest-growing wedding photography trends involves intentional motion blur. Think dancing, spinning, champagne toasts, or running through a field together. I actually wrote an entire blog on “the blur sensation.” Feel free to check it out!
This editorial-meets-documentary style creates images that feel alive and cinematic rather than perfectly polished.

Photography experts say movement-based portraits are dominating modern wedding galleries because they create emotion and authenticity naturally.

The Forehead Kiss
Soft, intimate, and timeless — the forehead kiss creates closeness without feeling overly dramatic. It works beautifully during golden hour portraits or quiet moments after the ceremony.
The Veil Wrap
One of the most romantic trends right now involves couples wrapped together under the veil. The result feels dreamy, editorial, and deeply personal.

The “Almost Kiss”
Rather than a full dip or dramatic embrace, photographers are capturing couples right before the kiss — smiling, laughing, or pausing in anticipation. These moments often feel more emotional because they’re less posed. This one is such a sweet moment captured!

The Quiet Moment
Some of the most powerful wedding portraits happen when couples forget the camera entirely:
- Sitting together after the ceremony
- Holding hands during sunset
- Sharing a private laugh
- A gentle embrace on the dock overlooking the lake

These unscripted moments are becoming more meaningful than heavily directed poses.
The New Wedding Trend: Authenticity
Wedding trends for 2026 consistently point toward one theme: authenticity. Couples are moving away from highly curated social-media moments and toward experiences that feel personal and emotionally real.
That doesn’t mean traditional poses are “out.” It simply means couples now have permission to choose photos that reflect their relationship rather than following every wedding trend online.
At Lavender on the Lake, we love seeing couples create moments that feel natural to them — whether that’s a classic dip kiss on the dock, a playful champagne pop, or a quiet sunset walk by the water. Being in the moment is super important and I try not to get bossy to remind my couples on their wedding day. 😉
Because the best wedding photos aren’t about recreating a trend.
They’re about capturing a feeling you’ll want to relive forever.
Thank you for swinging by my blog! If you are new here, you will see that I believe in supporting other locally owned venues. Check out a few of them here!
Until next time!
