Documenting your wedding day through the lens of photography
As I am sitting here thinking about this blog post, I am feeling SO excited because we have an amazing thing happening here at Lavender on the Lake this week. We have one of the coolest, most creative, and incredibly well known photographers coming to our venue to do a workshop. Not only will THE Sam Hurd be here, but we have 11 other photographers coming who are local to Orlando as well as several out of state and international photographers coming! How cool is that?! Truly, I fear the worst. I fear that Jason will be paralyzed and unable to speak coherently when his unofficial mentor and idol walks into Lavender on Lake. At which point, I hope that I don’t overcompensate by being completely chatty and annoyingly “effervescent”-as my high school teacher described me. BUT I digress. I will going to further blogging detail about the workshop later in the week. Excuse me; let me refocus on my task at hand which is to spotlight 3 Central Florida Wedding Photographers.
The first photographer that I would like to share with you is Bouquet Kramek with Bouquet Photography. Bouquet came out to take a tour of Lavender when we were not even open, and I immediately liked her. She is welcoming, kind, funny, and positive; just take a look at her More About Me on her website which gives you insight into who she is and how she began her photography journey. Below you can find some examples of her weddings!
The next photographer has to obviously be my husband Jason who is the owner of Concept Photography. He is coming up on 20 years with photographing weddings and it is incredible to look through his early work to his current work to see how his style has evolved and grown. (Thank you, Sam for that influence.) With the process of building Lavender on the Lake, he has naturally slowed down with photographing weddings, however, he plans to shoot 1-2 weddings here at LOTL monthly. I have to admit that his creative vision was certainly alluring to me when I was falling in love with him. He is SO fun to watch behind the lens- not so much in front of it. I mean, have you seen him? He makes the strangest faces and it takes a lot to get him comfortable there. BUT behind the lens, he works magic. Take a look at some images from his weddings over the year.
My final spotlight is Cheyne + Lauren with Deans Photography. Cheyne began working with Jason many years ago and while continuing to be a 2nd photographer from time to time for Jason, he has built an amazing photography business with his wife Lauren. (I have a theory on why he still photographs with Jason-considering he also owns a beachside skate and surf shop in addition to having his own photography business-and this is so that they can get their guy time while bouncing creative business ideas off of each other.) Cheyne has a magnetic and fun personality which helps to loosen up those who are being photographed while sweet Lauren carefully pays attention to details and is meticulous in finding beauty in all the moments. You can see a few of their photos below!
We believe in the importance of having a good photographer for your wedding day so that you can enjoy looking back on those captured moments. If you reach out to any of these photographers, please let them know that I sent you. It sure takes a village and I love to support other local small businesses!
Thank you so much for popping by my blog; if you are a here for the first time you will see that I am dedicated to using our platform to support locally owned wedding venues. In every blog we write, we are including 5 locally owned wedding venues who use their articles to support their colleagues and the wedding industry in ways that are not always recognized but are essential. If you are searching for a wedding venue, please consider a locally owned venue, you can find locally owned wedding venues featured on this wedding venue map.
