A new year is the perfect time for fresh beginnings—and at Lavender on the Lake, we believe that there’s no better place to start a love story than right here in sunny Orlando, Florida at our wedding venue. As we are stepping into the New Year, we’re setting intentions not just for ourselves, but for every couple who chooses us as the back drop for their wedding “I do.” Personally, I believe that each day is a fresh, new beginning so this doesn’t necessarily apply to the new year specifically. Each and every moment, we can begin again.

However, here are our New Year’s resolutions—and how they’re designed with you in mind.

Resolution #1: Create Even More Unforgettable Wedding Experiences

As we continue to create our space we are again committed to elevating every detail— from ceremony setups to reception layouts—so that each wedding feels as unique as the couple behind it. Whether you’re dreaming of an elegant indoor celebration or a romantic outdoor ceremony under the Florida sky, our goal is to make your vision come to life effortlessly. We strongly encourage our couples to select from our approved vendor list to ensure a seamless, perfect wedding day. You can look here for more on this. It truly makes a difference.

Resolution #2: Refresh and Refine Our Spaces

New year, refreshed spaces! We’re investing in thoughtful updates, décor enhancements, and design inspiration to keep our venue feeling timeless, on-trend, and complete. Not only that, but most of you know that we are only an 1 1/2 year old venue so we are continuing to CREATE. Expect beautiful backdrops, updated photo-worthy spots, and versatile spaces that adapt to your personal style. Having said that, this means that we are resolute to keep grinding and working to continue enhancing our spaces.

Resolution #3: Provide Exceptional, Personalized Service During Wedding Prep

Planning a wedding should feel exciting—not overwhelming. This year, we’re doubling down- my dad uses this phrase and I LOVE IT-on personalized support, clear communication, and hands-on guidance to ensure every couple feels confident and cared for throughout their planning journey. This is something that we take pride in; I am honored to be the point of contact for our couples throughout the entire process- even as we add employees. As a teacher and momma, I believe whole heartedly that personal connection is everything. All of our couples matter to us and each moment matters whether it is a BIG one or a LITTLE one. And let’s be honest; planning a wedding is a BIG one.

Additionally, we are requiring our couples to select from our list of coordinators to ensure that your wedding day goes off without any hitches. 😉 Hee hee. I couldn’t help myself!

Resolution #4: Celebrate Love in All Its Forms

Every love story deserves to be celebrated. We love to welcome couples of all backgrounds, cultures, and styles, and we’re committed to creating an inclusive space where everyone feels at home. Our catering list includes all different types of cuisines to encompass the various cultural and religious needs.

Resolution #5: Taking Time for Self Care

You might we wondering why this is a resolution for us. My mom always told me that the reason why flight attendants tell the parents to secure their own oxygen masks first, it is so that the parents have the oxygen to help the children. This is a metaphor I go back to again and again. Building this dream has certainly had its ups and downs and through it, I can admit that my family has suffered and Jason and I have paid a bit of a price. While we continue to support and grow our business- which is a passion and not a “business”- we also know that we cannot do it alone. Fortunately, we have begun to grow a team for support which will only allow us to pour our energies in the personal connection and spaces that matter most.

Wherever you are in the wedding journey- or journey of LIFE- taking time to put on your own oxygen masks first is essential. Do things that fuel your energy, connect you with your spiritual guide- for me it is Jesus, and continue to set healthy boundaries for yourself. Jason and I are continuing to do this on our end so that we can continue to serve our couples in the best ways that we can.

Thank you for taking a moment to read my blog. We truly hope that as you are further into this new year, that you are beginning each day again and again with a fresh start. Continue to create the life that you love- one that is full of meaning, giving back and looking within. We vow to continue showing up doing our very best for our couples, families, and our community. HUGS!
