As you begin selecting your vendors here at Lavender on the Lake, we provide you with a preferred vendor list because we have high expectations for the way all of the details come together. I know that it is hard to believe that your wedding does not just happen magically; it happens with a careful and thoughtful selection of a team of people who become your village…the ones who make the magic happen. These are the humans who are behind the scenes making things appear to be seamless and flawless on your actual wedding day. From what I have learned, the behind-the-scenes can be stressful, fast paced, on-the-fly problem solving, and quite honestly, very, very sweaty. It is essential to select your vendors with information not only about their product, but also to take into account their work ethic and how they deliver their services to you and for you. Your vendors are the ones who are working to be sure that your day is all that you have always imagined it to be.
Because Jason has been photographing weddings for 19 years, he has worked with a lot of vendors in the industry. Obviously there is SO much talent in this community-and in this world- regarding photography, catering, decor, etc. which is why we do have a preferred list. As a new venue, we are learning quickly just how essential it is to have a team who shows up with the same desire that we hold which is to create “The Perfect Day” for our couples.
For our next several blogs, we have decided to spotlight vendors for several of the wedding industry categories starting with 3 local videographers plus 1 who is long distance but willing to travel. We absolutely believe that hiring a good videographer is an important part of your wedding process. Your videographer captures all of the could-be-missed or forgotten moments and creates a product that you can look back on for years. Seeing the moments where you were surrounded with love by all of the people in your circle who have traveled near and far to celebrate YOU and your LOVE is a special treasure that we believe is worth every penny spent. When things get hard- which they will because as we know this life is a crazy, good, beautiful, and difficult journey- having your wedding video to look back on can be recentering and a space to remember the love encompassing you on your wedding day. Canvas an Vale was founded in 2013 by creative director James Rayner. Originally from England, now based in Florida, Rayner unintentionally fell into the world of capturing weddings and a short while after was in love with the art of capturing one of the most important days in a person’s life.
